The International Conference on Human Interaction & Emerging Technologies (IHIET) conference was held at the University of Vienna’s Faculty of Computer Science from 25th to 27th of August.

The dig!doc consortium was involved on all layers: Together with IHIET founding member and long-running organizer Tareq Ahram, Renate Motschnig served as conference chair. Michael Jemetz, who also submitted a poster on his dissertation project, was able to gather first experiences as technical staff, supporting chairs and speakers during sessions. Selina Gartner attended the conference as a regular participant as well.

In addition to the thematically diverse and interesting technical sessions, during which innovations from various areas of human-machine interactions were presented, the conference offered ample opportunity for networking with researchers from around the world. Networking opportunities were offered in the form of a communal visit to the opera house as well as during coffee breaks and dinners. For the last of which, the Vienna City Hall – represented by city councilor Nikola Poljak at the event – invited the participants to a traditional Viennese Heurigen restaurant.

Many thanks to the team for the great cooperation and the nice time at IHIET as well as to the Vienna City Hall for the invitation!
